VENICE

There’s no denying the beauty of Venice, especially the island city’s charming canals and maze-like streets that make it the perfect place to get lost without really ever loosing your way.

TOP TIPS:

STAY canal side at the beautiful Ca’ Vendramin Zago, a former 17th century palazzo with access to the city right outside its doorstep.

DO window shop (beautiful Venetian masks and blown glass make for perfect eye candy) and island hop beyond Murano to the colorful Burano (where handmade lace is a specialty).

EAT al fresco whenever possible (some of my favorite spots are in the Cannaregio district) and order a quintessential spritz aperitivo before your meal.

DISCOVER the tradition of the gondoliere by trying out your own rowing skills, and be sure not to miss the pink-hued St. Mark’s Square at sunset.
